A historical mystery novel

Bucaresdava

The City Underneath

The city of Bucharest was built over more than streets.

Bucharest has burned, flooded and been rebuilt on its own rubble more than once. Each time the ground is opened, the same engraved disc comes up, always within sight of Dâmbovița, foretelling nothing, only remembering."

Enter the city

The Dâmbovița ran through marsh and alder for centuries while the city was still nothing, and something was already buried in that mud when the first man came to give the place a name.

Every age leaves
a city underneath.

BUCARESDAVA is a historical mystery told through people separated by centuries and bound to the same ground.

From a settlement on the Dâmbovița before Bucharest had its name, through medieval courts, fire, plague and the expanding capital, each generation encounters a fragment of what the city has never completely forgotten.

Streets are raised, names disappear, the living rebuild, and beneath them, the earlier city remains.
